Script Summary: Groups reports, loads descriptions, ratings and poster images from different sources.
Version: 2.6.1
DISCONTINUED SCRIPT Please note this script will not be updated anymore. Firefox 5 is not supported.
CHROME USERs: Due to the heavy Cross-Site communication by this script and the paranoid security concept fo Chrome, this is not compatible with Chrome. Instead, please use the ported Chrome version here: https://chrome.google.com/extensions/detail/fki...
Currently supported data sources:
- IMDB (Movies)
- Gamespot (Games)
- Gamerankings (Games)
- TVRage (TV)
- AniDB (Anime)
- XonAir (XXX)
- CDUniverse (Various)
- Google Music (Music)

- Metal Archives (Music)
- Amazon (Various)
- JadedVideo (XXX)
- AdultDVDMarketplace (XXX)
How to use:
Install the script and go to www.newzbin.com or www.newzxxx.com. On the top menu you'll see a new item 'poster'. Go to 'data sources' and select the sources that you want the script to access. Then browse the reports. The script will load the info to the reports automatically, if a link is given to the selected data sources. Hovering on the poster will show more information. Clicking the poster will expand the group and show the reports.
Updates:
v2.6- Made compatible with new Nezbin version. The saga goes on.
- No real update. Just moved the script out of beta. Nothing changed but the version number
- Added experimental MPAA age filtering. Set desired age in the filter menu. Movies beyond that age will be hidden. Clear your cache before using this (right-click on the greasemonkey icon->userscript actions->Newzbin - clear cache). Let me know how this works.
- Has been a long time since the last version. I was quite busy doing other stuff.
- Please consider this release as beta. Do not install this version, if you don't want to deal with some smaller bugs.
- Outsourced a lot of images to my server to make the script slimmer
- The javascript code containing the regular expressions to parse the content is loaded from a server. This makes it possible for me to write other scripts using the same rules. Currently I'm planning to write a similar script for VCDQuality.
- When you hover over the thumbnail, an IFrame opens up and displays some information as well as some useful links to other sites. You can search on VCDQuality or look for trailers...
- You can assign bookmarks to the releases. Your bookmarks are stored on your own computer, there is no information going anywhere. This only works in FF3.5 and later, because it uses the HTML 5 LocalStorage. I'm planning to make a site where you can manage your bookmarks later.
- TVRage seemd to have changed their image location so images were not displayed. Fixed with this version.
- Added option to prevent grouping of deactivated data sources
- Added option to expand groups by default
- Adult content in CDUniverse and AniDB will not be cached until age is verified.
- Added new Data source: JadedVideo (XXX)
- Big new feature: I added caching. Now the script will store information about reports you have seen and will not contact the data providers every time you reload the page. This should reduce some traffic, especially if you are often checking a specific page.
- To furthermore reduce traffic, I added delayed loading. Before, the information was loaded when you opened a page. Now, the data is only loaded when it's visible. That means, if you have a page with 500 reports, it will only load the top few reports that are visible and load the rest when you scroll down. If you only want to check the recent few reports, this is much faster than before.
- The delayed loading has a drawback: Sort by rating is not possible anymore. I hope nobody was using it anyway. If you need that, let me know and I'll think of a way to implement it.
- Changed the Datasource Amazon.com to Amazon. This includes all local branches of Amazon, like Amazon.co.uk, Amazon.de, etc. Be careful with Amazon, though. Amazon keeps track of the products you access to give you personal suggestions what you could be interested in. So if you are logged in into your Amazon account and browse Newzbin, it will keep track of all reports you are viewing on Newzbin and will give you suggestions based on that. Probably that's not what you want, so be careful with this. You'll have to activate Amazon in the Menu, if you want to use it.
- Added Fadein/Fadeout effects
- Added new Data sources: XonAir, CDUniverse, Google Music, Allmusic, Metal Archives and Amazon.com
- Added menu to enable/disable data sources
- Added AniDB provider for Anime
- Added TVRage provider for TV shows. All episodes of one show are grouped together.
- Removed the categories "New reports", "Previous reports" and "Unrated reports" when the option "sort by rating" is turned off
- The option "sort by rating" is now disabled by default
- To save bandwidth and prevent long processing times, the number of reports that are processed is now limited to 100
- The source of the poster and data is displayed at the foot of the group
- Fixed a bug where the order of the reports was reversed in the groups
- Modified architecture to support different information providers
- Added 2 info providers for games: Gamespot.com and Gamerankings.com
